France striker Alexandre Lacazette has disclosed that the players were motivated to beat Argentina due to the offensive video that went viral on social media.
Recall that the host defeated Argentina 1-0 in the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympic Games Men’s Football on Friday.

Reacting after the game, Lacazette in a chat with AP, said the players were determined and motivated to beat Argentina.
“A great rivalry has been created between two great soccer nations. But given what’s been said in the past few weeks, our victory is there, on the field and off it,” France captain Alexandre Lacazette said.
“We had in mind what was said (in the video). We had to stay focused on the Olympic Games, but maybe it did give us a little bit of extra motivation for us—aand for France.”
