The video-sharing company YouTube has pulled the wedding anthem of Nigerian music star Davido, ‘Ogechi Remix’, over copyright claims.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that during his wedding to the mother of his twin, Chioma, on June 25th 2024, the singer featured a new song, “Ogechi Remix” owned by singers BoyPee, Hyce, and Brown Joel.
The ‘Unavailable’ crooner in the song introduced his wife’s name, Chioma, using the same style as the original song, and by extension, captured the hearts of music lovers.
Shortly after the singer released the audio version, a music video followed on July 19th 2024.
It is alleged that Davido is not credited as the official artist for the song on YouTube, fueling speculation about the track’s ownership.
Although the music video has been pulled down on Davido’s YouTube, the audio remains available on BoyPee’s official YouTube page.
The development has stirred mixed reactions on social media, with many calling the singer out for copyright theft.
