Burnley boss Vincent Kompany is reportedly closing in on a move to become Bayern Munich's next manager after Thomas Tuchel's sack.
Despite making contacts with several managers, including the availability of Mauricio Pochettino following his exit from Chelsea, Kompany remains the frontrunner to take over the German giants.
Kompany emerged a surprising, yet strong candidate to replace Tuchel, who leaves Bayern after 14 months in charge.
Although the Manchester City legend managed to guide Burnley back to the Premier League, the Clarets were relegated again in their first season, finishing 19th with just 24 points.

Prior to his tenure at Burnley, Kompany managed Belgian club Anderlecht.
Bayern Munich suffered a tough season, failing to win the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 years despite signing England captain Harry Kane.
The club also ended the campaign without any trophies, a situation they haven't faced since the 2011/12 season.
Bayern's search for a new manager has seen several setbacks and rejections.
They expressed interest in Oliver Glasner, who has impressed since taking over at Crystal Palace, but this move did not materialize as both Glasner and Palace were not ready to part ways.
