The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) conducts a raid on a supermarket in on Monday, April 22, following reports alleging that Nigerians were being denied entry.

This action came after Nigerians expressed outrage on Sunday, taking to to condemn the management of the Chinese supermarket in Abuja for refusing entry to Nigerians.

The supermarket, located at the China General Chamber of Commerce along Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Road in the , is known for its Chinese cuisine and beverages.

Interestingly, access to the supermarket is reportedly limited to Chinese individuals only.

Shaibu Sanusi, the facility manager of the complex, confirmed that Nigerians from outside the complex are not allowed to there. However, Nigerians residing within the complex are permitted entry for shopping purposes.

While the supermarket remains closed, the FCCPC has raised concerns that some individuals may be hiding inside to avoid interaction with the agency.
