Olu Jacobs is alive, his family has said in a fresh video.

Newsone Nigeria reports that veteran Nollywood actor, Olu Jacobs who was alleged to have died today, Sunday, June 30, 2024, is alive.

 

This online news platform recalls that Olu Jacobs' wife, Joke Silva, a veteran Nollywood actress had revealed in an interview with Chude Jideonwo in November 2021 that her husband had been battling with Dementia with Lewy body (DLB) for a couple of years.

“He is dealing with issues and it has been going on for a couple of years. It is known as dementia with Lewy Body. It is a degenerative disease that affects the brain and it is almost like a Parkinson's type of disease, it affects the brain so you don't see the shaking. It affects the person,” she said.

“It is the first time I said that publicly. I knew the time will come that it has to be known.”

The veteran actress also spoke concerning the effect of her husband's health condition on herself and family members.

“It's been hard on him because he doesn't understand what is going on and also on family members as well. We have gone through it over the past couple of years and we thank God.

“We have gone through some times and situations recently that I wish I had the old you here so I don't battle these times on my own but we are grateful for the moment of clarity. I miss the times we worked together,” she had said in 2021.

On Sunday, June 30, reports emerged that the veteran actor had passed away but the family debunked the death rumour.

However, his wife, Joke Silva, has publicly debunked these claims, confirming that her husband is alive and well.

His son, Soji Jacobs, also denied reports that his father had died.

He said: “The family is tired of this rumour that keeps recurring every year.

“We have been getting calls from all over the world from people who want to confirm if the story is true.

“My mum (Joke Silva) is on the phone right now answering multiple calls.

“This is annoying.”
