Manchester United co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has opened up on his decision not to sack manager Erik ten Hag.
A lot of fans and pundits expected Ten Hag to be axed after the Red Devils endured their worst season in the Premier League era.
United finished in eighth position, with a negative goal difference for the first time in 34 years.
It was also a campaign that saw the team lose 14 times.
However, Ten Hag masterminded a 2-1 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final, a result that saw United qualify for the Europa League.
Ratcliffe then decided to keep the Dutchman in charge, handing him a new contract until 2026.
In an interview with The Times, Ratcliffe: “Erik is a good guy and has been doing his best, but doing too much.
“He was trying to sort out the squad and fix leaks in the roof at the same time.”
