Giannis Antetokounmpo led Greece to a crucial victory in their third Group A match of Paris 2024 Olympics Men’s Basketball Event winning 77-71 against Australia on Friday, August 2.
Antetokounmpo recorded 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, raising hopes that Greece will advance to the next round after losses to Canada and Spain in their first two games.

Despite the victory, Greece’s chances of qualifying for the next round are still uncertain at the time of this report as they remain in third position in Group A.
Their chances largely depend on the outcome of other results, particularly the clash between Serbia and South Sudan later the same day.
If Serbia wins by 3 points over South Sudan, Greece will advance as one of the two best third-placed teams.
Australia, meanwhile, will finish second in Group A if Canada beats Spain, but if Spain wins, Greece’s hopes of advancing could be dashed.
