At least 105 people have been confirmed dead following a petrol tanker explosion in Majiya town, in Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Henzodaily reported that the incident happened at around 12:30 am on Wednesday, with the tanker said to have fallen, making villagers scoop fuel before the explosion.
The Public Relations Officer of Jigawa State Police Command, Shiisu Adam, in an interview with Punch, said about 55 people sustained various degrees of injuries and were hospitalized at Ringim General Hospital.
