Tobi Amusan achieved this feat by winning the gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles On Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

She completed the 100m hurdle event for Nigeria in 12.89 seconds, which is considered one of her slower finishes.

Her first gold medal in the All-African Games was in Brazzaville, Congo, in 2015, followed by a second gold medal in Rabat, Morocco, in 2019.

With Tobi Amusan's recent victory in Accra, Nigeria's total gold medal count at the 2024 All-African Games has reached 31. The country has also earned 22 silver medals and 32 bronze medals, resulting in a total of 85 medals overall.

Despite this success, Nigeria remains in second place on the medals table at the 2024 All-African Games, trailing behind Egypt. As of Wednesday morning, March 20, Egypt has secured 92 gold medals, 40 silver medals, and 33 bronze medals, totaling 165 medals.

Other countries vying for the top spots include third-place South , fourth-place Algeria, and fifth-place Tunisia, all competing closely with Team Nigeria.

The current rankings on the 2024 All-African Games medals table show Ghana in sixth place, followed by Mauritius, Eritrea, Morocco, and Ethiopia, completing the top ten positions.
