Mississippi – A livid mother has called for the sacking of police officers who placed his son in police custody for urinating in a parking lot.

No public toilets

LaTonya Eason said her son, Quantavious, was waiting for her at an when he had to use the bathroom.

According to CNN, the 10-year-old saw a sign that said there were no public restrooms, so he urinated on private property.

An officer who was driving by saw the boy and stopped to investigate and reached out to LaTonya who spoke to the officer apologised and reprimanded her son for the bad behaviour.

“Well you know better, don't let it happen again,” she told her son.

However, the matter was far from being resolved as four more officers arrived and arrested Quantavious. He was put in a police car and taken to a police station.

Eason's lawyer, Carlos Moore, claimed the was unwarranted and excessive.

According to Richard Chandler, the Senatobia Police Chief, the was not handcuffed during the incident.

In a post, the police boss said in a statement:

“It was an error in judgment for us to transport the child to the police station since the mother was present at that time as a reasonable alternative.”

The police stated:

“As a result of this investigation one of the officers involved is no longer employed, and the others will be disciplined. We will also have mandatory Juvenile training department-wide, just as we do every year.”

Man beaten for urinating in public

In Kakamega, a man was beaten to a pulp after he ignored a sign warning against urination in public.

Police arrested a man who brutally descended on another for responding to a call of nature.

Jared Otieno, 30, was reportedly infuriated after a 24-year-old took a leak at a public place ignoring the clear “Kojoa Hapa Uone!” warning inscribed on a wall.

Taking to X on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the victim was yet to finish his business when Otieno emerged and rained blows on his face.

The injured man was rushed to hospital with injuries on his mouth.
